Is those countries are highly disciplined and they follow instructions and order! Japan has basically the same rate of testing as the US

Yet they've controlled the virus and have so few deaths despite having the oldest population in the world. Here in Canada we have at least two arrests of people defying their quarantine orders. This does not happen in these countries. Look at Japan during the Fukushima disaster. Everyone lined up and followed orders. No social upheaval during their time of crisis. When public health issues a decree these countries listen. You don't see any of their mayors walking around cursing people for not staying indoors (Italian mayors) The sick stayed home, problem solved. If you choose to respond please to so by explaining how Japan, with basically the same tests as the US and the oldest population in the world has so few deaths?

Timing. Timing is everything.

To contain such a pathogen, nations must develop a test and use it to identify infected people, isolate them, and trace those they’ve had contact with. That is what South Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong did to tremendous effect. It is what the United States did not.

I would try to read up on why we were late on testing. We didn’t want to use a German test kit that accurately tested about 60% of the time. It wasn’t a reliable test kit. But instead of using during the time we were developing our own, we decided to do nothing. It was a choice that the Trump administration made. They claim the WHO didn’t ask them if they needed tests lmao.

But since pre school I was taught if you didn’t have something that you need...it’s your responsibility to speak up. They knew other countries were getting those German made kits and decided to wait until we could get a test that was 100% confirmation. Personally, I’d rather be testing at 60% accuracy instead not at all. Smell me?

Aside from the death rate question, it has been determined that high blood pressure has been seen in over 75% of cases..america has at least 1/3 of its population with high blood pressure ..obviously being obese does not help with this equation

Following instructions is everything, not testing as the Japanese model has proven. Sick people stay home. Not that difficult. Very easy in highly disciplined and orderly societies like Japan, Singapore and Korea.

Ya, culture/social cohesion/shared sacrifice is huge advantage the far east countries have (as well as a heavy hand in China case)

Read about what life was like for people in this country during WW2. Pretty interesting and jarring. Obviously the story of the war has been told many times and in every aspect but what life was like back in the states really hasn't.

Plot Against America sort of tells that story. Or at least dives into it from alternative perspective. But still very similar to life then. You tuned into that yet?

I understand and that is important because in this country we only care about ourselves and money. So no chance everyone will follow instructions.

But look at it like this.....if they don’t test early....it will go undetected and then it will spread. Those counties you named all were able to contain it by testing it and tracking it. If you don’t do that you can’t really fight it realistically. Because even if you do shut everything down, how do you know there aren’t any new cases when opening everything back up?

The most important thing is to test. That’s how you eliminate these viruses. Is by testing. That’s the most effective measure to take next to shutting everything down I agree. But if you don’t have your arms wrapped around it and don’t know how many people are infected, how can you open things back up? Those countries tested and had their arms wrapped around the thing. We didn’t.

Wait, I thought it was drinking dirty water?

You act like anyone in here actually thinks you have something valuable to say.

Clue for you: You don't.

Japan did not test early!

Abe did not force them to get tested.

Even on March 5 only visitors from China and Korea where quarantined, rest of the population wasn't and they had their first case before the US
